Well, it took some doing, but have we got a schedule for you! We’re still finalzing a pub location for our Friday night Drunken Poets night–featuring Midnight Yoga For Alcoholics–but the rest is good to go!

Some highlights:

  • Friday - we’re kicking off this year’s festival with an Under the Influence of Poetry evening–join us at 6:00pm to share your favorite poem with others and learn which poems or poets inspired our PPF2012 poets to take on the art form themselves! Then, follow us to a Kensington pub for a Drunken Poets night featuring Midnight Yoga for Alcoholics (suggested $5 donation at the door for Drunken Poets)
  • Saturday - we’ve got a Found Poetry Workshop going on at the Central Library–free, but you need to register– a Kid’s “Make Yer Own Poetry” craft event, an Adult’s Only reading–followed by an intimate Erotica Writing Workshop–before our Youth Open Mic–a Sheri-D Wilson/A Place Called WordsWorth collaboration. Then, join us for that evening for a filling Station Showcase, our first Poetry Cabaret–complete with live music and burlesque performances–before we broadcast Saint Misbehavin’: The Wavy Gravy Movie outdoors, weather permitting of course
  • Sunday - following on the success of last year’s Dr. Seuss SLAM! we’re back for a kids-approved reading: Shel Silverstein! Then, join Bob Stallworthy and Richard Harrison for our afternoon poetry workshops before PPF 2012 Poet of Honour, Jen Kunlire, brings us home
  • Saturday and Sunday - 11:00am to 4:00pm – Check out our outdoor mic–featuring both scheduled and open mic performances–our Poetic Graffiti art walk, and DIY Poetry central in front of Joints–with other DIY stations located at Resolution Art Gallery and Market Collective (where our PPF 2012 poets will be reading each hour) along side WordFest and The Calgary Public Library (Free with the price of Market Collective admission)
