… and that means we need your help to fund the 2012 People’s Poetry Festival. We’ve enrolled to try and win a Calgary 2012 Grassroots Inspired Grant (GIG). This grant — $1,200 — is awarded to 24 projects in July/August, just in time to fund the 2012 festival! Each month, the public votes on their top 12 choices for events and arts/culture/heritage projects in Calgary, and the Calgary 2012 Cultural Ambassadors vote on an additional 12. Those 24 projects receive the grant, and that’s where you come in!
If you haven’t already signed up, it’s easy-as-pie! Just check out the Calgary 2012 GIG website — our post is conveniently located at http://www.gigyyc.com/event/2012/peoples-poetry-festival – to register (for free!) and you can vote once per day, every day! If we’re in the top 12 at the end of July, we’ll receive a $1,200 grant, which would go a LOOOOOOOOONG way to help us make this year’s festival even bigger than last year!
So while you’re wandering through the interwebs, if you can take the time to click and vote, we’d really appreciate it!
